Fifty years of history

CSM was established in the 50s by a hundred shipping agents from Genoa who decided to come together to found the then Genoa Marshalling Yard Station, to provide the port of Genoa with a modern structure and an autonomous organization to deal with the handling of imported and exported goods, as well as related services.

In the 70s the emergence of containers brought about a first revolution, shifting the above-mentioned specialized traffic directly to the Centre for stuffing, unstuffing and gripping operations.

In 2004, expansion works to double the available warehouse roofed surface and to significantly modernize the structure were started and the newly built areas became fully operative in 2010.

Today, just like fifty years ago, CSM is first and foremost a story of men who have increased their qualified skills in services and commodities handling, growing into professionally renowned workers who have become integral part, indeed, a precious resource not only for the current Distripark, but also for the entire port of Genoa.
